As we find ourselves in the final month of the year, it’s a good moment to reflect on both what we have accomplished so far, as well as the remaining tasks on our checklist. The end of the year can get busy, but taking a moment for self-reflection is crucial, allowing us to recharge and strengthen connections with ourselves and others. While there’s still a lot to be done, here are some key points to consider:

  1. Academic Progress: By now you should have received your predicted and/or midterm grades (sometimes called interim grades), letters of recommendation and required documents. Make it a priority to submit your applications before the holiday season when possible. With schools closing down, reaching staff members on holiday leave can be challenging.
  1. Internal Application Deadlines: For non-EU students interested in French universities, mid-December is often the deadline for application submissions. Similarly, several US universities have Early Action and some Regular Deadlines in December..
  1. Test Deadlines:  The beginning of December is the last chance to take the SAT for seniors.
  1. Scholarship Opportunities: Many universities set a deadline of December 1st for scholarship applications. Some scholarships are automatic, while others require a separate application. Be sure to check the requirements and submit your applications on time.
  1. For younger student:, the break is a good time to take advantage of the time off and start visiting universities. Exploring potential destinations during the break is an excellent way to plan for the future.

Take advantage of the upcoming break to rest, but also remember to manage the necessary tasks and deadlines. This will allow you to keep on track and enter the new year with confidence.
